Five Mouth-Watering Garlic Recipes
From garlic cheese toast to mushrooms, potatoes and beans, these garlic-infused recipes will surely delight all garlic lovers!
1. Stir Fried Garlic Spinach
Super easy and super high on garlic, this one is both health and taste personified.
Blanch a bunch of baby spinach leaves, to soften their texture. Run them through ice cold water to retain the vibrant green colour.
Heat some oil in a pan and add white sesame seeds and chopped or powdered garlic. Go easy on the garlic. Toss in the blanched spinach. Stir well and add oregano, parsley, black pepper powder and salt.
Ready in a jiffy, this dish balances the distinct pungency of garlic and the slight sweetness of baby spinach beautifully.
2. Garlic Cheese Toast
An all-time favourite of kids and adults alike, nothing brings on the squeals of delight like a garlic cheese toast!
A true blue ode to both garlic and cheese, it is equally delicious as an accompaniment to other dishes or as a snack by itself.
Take some butter in a bowl. Add a heaped spoonful of garlic powder, herbs, chilli flakes and loads of grated cheese. Add a dash of mustard sauce, if you like that extra kick.
Microwave the mixture for 30 seconds to bring together all the ingredients. Spread a generous amount on a toast.
Sprinkle some more grated cheese and bake for 2 minutes at 150° Celsius.
Voila! Your toast of happiness is yours to devour!
3. Chilli Garlic Mushrooms
Another winner among garlic recipes, it is sure to take you to garlic heaven.
Wash and slice the mushrooms in half. Heat a little oil in a pan and add chopped garlic or powdered garlic. Toss in the mushrooms.
Cook over high heat as mushrooms have high water content which needs to be dried up fast. It also allows the garlic to weave its magic and blend in thoroughly with the mushrooms.
Once dry, add salt, oregano, black pepper and keep stirring. Mushrooms will leave some more water after salt is added to them.
Once completely dry, turn off the heat and eat straight from the pan!
4. Garlic Baby Potatoes
Yummy is an understatement for this garlic recipe!
The ever-favourite potatoes meet the always magical garlic!
Toss together some parboiled baby potatoes, a generous spoonful of garlic powder, thyme, rosemary, chilli flakes, salt and olive oil. Mix them well.
Heat the oven to 180° Celsius. Layer a baking tray with butter paper and put the potatoes on it. Drizzle some more olive oil on the potatoes, sprinkle some herbs and bake for 20 minutes.
The delicious aroma of garlic wafting in your kitchen is sure to get you drooling!
5. Garlic Bean Runners
Who would have thought the humble beans could become so fancy!
You need tender beans for this dish. De-thread the beans and blanch them. Rinse them in cold water and pat dry.
Sprinkle some gram flour over the beans. Add a generous spoonful on garlic powder. Now add salt, red chilli powder, caraway seeds and some oil. Mix well so that the gram flour coats the beans very well.
Leave for thirty minutes so that the beans get infused with the garlic juices.
Now, heat oil in a deep wok and deep fry the beans in small batches.
Your irresistible crunchy munchy bean runners will be polished off in no time at all!
