 So, what’s cooking in your kitchen this Diwali? Here are 3 Diwali snacks recipes for lighting up your Diwali taash parties and add to the fun.

While biryanis, ladoos, kaju katli and kheer form the centre stage of all Diwali dinners, delicious Diwali snack recipes are a must to get a party started. The savoury and crunchy delights get the festive mood going in no time at all.

3 Delish Diwali Snack Recipes to Light up the Festivities

1. Dahi Kebab

Dahi kebab is a one Diwali special food that will surely delight your guests and add to the joyful mood of the party. 

Super easy to make, it can be put together in no time at all. Crisp on the outside, it simply melts in the mouth.

Quick Recipe

  • Take 1 cup hung curd in a bowl. 
  • Add grated paneer (around 300gm), crumbled bread pieces (4-5), finely chopped onions and capsicum. 2-3 garlic cloves or ¼ tsp garlic powder.
  • Mix thoroughly so that no lumps are left. 
  • Season with salt, black pepper powder, red chilli powder and oregano. Mix well again. 
  • Divide the mixture into small portions. Now grease your palms and shape them in oval or round shapes. 
  • Shallow try for 1-2 minutes over low heat and serve with coriander-mint chutney.

2. Roasted Masaledaar Chickpeas

The perfect accompaniment with a thrilling game of teen-patti (flash), these are a crunchy and yummy take on chickpeas.

Giving a feel of Diwali crackers popping in your mouth, these roasted delights are sure to bring on a non-stop bingeing session. 

Bursting with flavours the chickpeas are roasted in olive oil and masalas and are, in a nutshell, crunchy heaven.

Quick Recipe

  • Take 3 cups of boiled and perfectly drained chickpeas.
  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Layer the chickpeas in a baking tray and drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil and salt to taste. Mix well and bake for around 30 minutes, stirring every 5-7 minutes.
  • Pull out the tray and sprinkle some red chilli powder, cumin powder, garam masala, a little garlic powder and garam masala powder. Mix well.
  • Put the tray back in the oven for 5-10 minutes with the temperature now at 150°C, stirring every couple of minutes.
  • Watch over them carefully as this is the time they can burn.
  • Pull the tray out and transfer the chickpeas to a platter. Let them cool down before storing in a container. Though am sure you will not be able to resist sampling them while still hot!

3. Cheesy Baked Nachos

Among the superstar Diwali Special dishes, this one is pure indulgence. Layers of crunchy nachos, sprinkled with tangy tomato salsa, red kidney beans, and loaded with a generous portion of cheese will light up your Diwali party like none other. Yummylicious, easylicious and insanely delicious! 

Quick Recipe

  • Line the nachos on a microwave-proof platter.
  • Sprinkle finely chopped onions, tomatoes, some loves and jalapenos (optional).
  • Add a dash of black pepper powder and salt to taste.
  • Add a generous helping of boiled red kidney beans (canned are fine too).
  • Drizzle some tomato salsa and top with loads of grated cheese.
  • Microwave for 1 minute and serve them piping hot.

Each bite of this loaded nacho platter will be a trip to nacho heaven!
